New challenges and opportunities emerge as both chiropractors and their patients endeavour to age successfully. Chief among these are adaptations to physical exercise and modifications to chiropractic treatment. This webinar will focus on evidence-based approaches that facilitate staying ‘fit after 50’ and on mitigating risk to both the patient and adjusting chiropractor by adopting alternatives to HVLA manipulative therapy.

Instructors

Dr. Brian Gleberzon, DC, BA, MHSc, PhD (Candidate)

Dr. Gleberzon graduated from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in 1989, when he began (and continues to operate) a private practice in midtown Toronto. Brian joined the faculty at CMCC in 1994. Obtaining the rank of Professor and position of Departmental Chair, teaching chiropractic technique for over 27 years. In addition to tutoring in several Clinical Education courses, Brian coordinated the Year III Healthy Ageing and the Jurisprudence, Ethics and Business Management courses. Overall, he has educated roughly half of all chiropractors in Canada.

Dr. Lisa Killinger, DC

Dr. Lisa Killinger is a 1983 Graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. After several years in practice, she took a position as a researcher at Palmer College and is now a full Professor of Clinical Sciences. She has taught Healthy Aging for over 20 years at Palmer and has published numerous peer reviewed publications and 9 book chapters on this topic. She has taught seminars on Ageing Well in 11 countries around the world.

Dr. Crystal Draper, DC

CCA Senior Manager of Professional Practice

Dr. Draper is the Senior Manager of Professional Practice at the Canadian Chiropractic Association (CCA). She holds a Bachelor of Arts and Science Degree in Human Kinetics and Developmental Psychology from the University of Guelph and is a graduate of the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC). In addition to her work at the CCA, she practices downtown Toronto at a family-based interdisciplinary clinic, focusing on pregnancy and postpartum care. Before joining the CCA, Dr. Draper was a faculty member and course coordinator for Clinical Diagnosis and Female Care and taught within the Chiropractic Techniques and Chiropractic Principles departments at CMCC. She has a number of peer-reviewed journal articles and has presented research at various conferences.
